In case you didn’t know, podcasts are a huge trend in media content lately! A podcast is essentially just an audio recording that can cover an infinite number of topics, from education to comedy, storytelling and self-help, and can range in length from short, easy to listen to episodes to long, in depth deep dives. No matter what you are looking for in your auditory entertainment, there is a podcast for you!

This week we have rounded up a few of our personal favorite podcasts to share. Here is a peak into what we listen to:

Stuff You Missed In History Class: A long running podcast from How Stuff Works, Stuff You Missed In History Class is currently hosted by 2 ladies; Tracy and Holly, who will gleefully let you know on all the amazing events, people, locations and even modern archeological discoveries that today’s schooling may have glossed over.

Why We Love It: You have to know your past, in order to make the most of your future. We learn from what was done before in order to improve upon it for the next time. So we love learning about all the amazing women, men, inventors, explorers and cultures that have come before us. There is a massive backlog of episodes from the current and previous hosts, so you’ll have plenty to catch up on! And a bonus, no pop quizzes!

Revisionist History with Malcom Gladwell: They say history is written by the winners, and in each episode of Revisionist History, Malcom Gladwell goes back and reinterprets something from the past: an event, a person, an idea. Something that was overlooked. Somethings that were just misunderstood. Each episode is fascinating and never unfolds how you think it will.

Why We Love It:  Sometimes you have to take a step back and look at something from a different angle to really understand it all. We’re always looking to be better informed, and Revisionist History is a fantastic way to challenge your preconceived notions. And yes, we miss the original McDonald fries too…

Success Bully: Keita Williams has dubbed herself a Professional Butt Kicker. Hailing from the Tech PR world, Keita started Success Bully to motivate and support visionaries of all types attain their professional and personal goals. She has had some incredible local CEO’s, presidents and more on her podcast sharing tips, tricks, and personal stories on how they succeed.

Why We Love It:  Sometimes you get stuck and just need a little push in the right direction. Keita and her guests address not just the big picture issues, but also let you in on the little things that keep you motivated, driven and successful.

Why We Love It: There is a myth that travel is only for the really rich, and this podcast proves that myth false. You can travel no matter what your budget! Since we are always looking for the next adventure, knowing how to travel while still having a full time job with office hours is key!

Marketing in Yoga Pants: A podcast and a sisterhood of female entrepreneurs ready to help you build your business. All while acknowledging that you’ll be doing a lot of work on your couch, in yoga pants. Brit is interviewing select creative business owners that are “in the trenches” of building their businesses and ready to share their expertise (and mistakes) with you. You’ll learn how to build your business while staying sane.

Why We Love It:  Women supporting women! And who doesn’t love the idea of being productive while in a top knot and yoga pants? The marketing world is a changing place and we love hearing from the ladies Brit had on her show.
