Owner | PrincipalMelissa Bathum is the Owner and Principal of Freemind Seattle. She has built Freemind with the goal of providing unforgettable event strategy and marketing solutions right from their historic office in Pioneer Square, Seattle.
Melissa has been in the high-tech event business for over 20 years, holding both internal senior marketing positions and external contractor jobs with various groups within Microsoft. She is known for her vast knowledge on tradeshow integration, particularly in the high-tech space and has worked on many Microsoft product launches such as Windows 7, SQL Server 2012, Office 2010; and endless large-scale tradeshows of over 28k attendees worldwide. Melissa has produced many marketing awareness campaigns designed to reach communities in the millions worldwide, and is best known for quirky creative treatments, nimble execution, flexibility to make changes in real time, and ability to keep efforts well under budget. When she’s not traveling for work, Melissa likes to spend time with her husband and son, traveling to new countries, skiing in the winter, or biking and kayaking at the beach on sunny days.

Kori Monson is the Marketing Communications Director, Events at Freemind Seattle and has been working in the event industry for over 10 years. A Puget Sound native, Kori found her way to the east side of the state but ultimately back on the west side due to her love for the community and people. She has an astute attention to detail, is client-centric and as such, has worked on a wide range of events from soft product launches to large scale events. Kori’s loves working directly with clients on achieving their ultimate goals and doing this with a unique approach that will wow their target audience.
Kori has an educational background that gives her a great understanding of organizations, managing teams, organizational change, and people in general. With a degree from the University of Washington in Ethnic Studies and a Master’s from the University of the Rockies in Organizational Psychology, she holds a passion for both the people, and the desire to exceed every expectation in all the projects that she works on. Her most rewarding projects include Microsoft Ignite – the global principal industry tradeshow for information technology. She has managed everything from the 20k square foot expo floor, to one of the largest onsite testing areas in the world. Her volunteer work includes children events, charity auctions, community engagement projects with an emphasis on diversity. She absolutely loves seeing all the hard work and ideas comes to life.
Event Marketing Manager
Victoria Blasich is the Event Marketing Manager for Freemind Seattle. A Pacific Northwest native that has spent time in southern states and overseas for schooling and adventures. Victoria earned a degree from Washington State University in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Political Science, International Buisness and Economics. Being a creative soul, she went looking for a job that fulfilled both her analytical side and imagination. After working in various roles at local fashion & e-commerce companies, she joined Freemind Seattle in 2018. She has years of experience with marketing strategies and fashion focused events and photoshoots for both small and large companies. With a passion for people and supporting fellow creatives, Victoria is driven to create and execute stellar events for our clients. Outside of work, you can find her curled up with her husband & cat, reading a good book or creating a delicious meal for friends and family.
